Phew! What a busy week I had. Now its back to reality. I was all over the place. I went to a baby shower in Ellenton, then on a mini vacation to Naples followed by dog sitting duty in Brandon. Did I spend the week being healthy? Hmmmm…. well, not while I was eating mint Oreos on the 14th floor balcony while watching the sun settle into the Gulf of Mexico.
First up Angela’s Baby Shower. A member of the baby shower planning committee, it was my loyal duty as a friend to make sure Angela had the BEST baby shower a mother and girlfriend could ask for.
Tiny fingers, tiny toes,
Little itty bitty clothes.
Dresses, ribbons & hair to curl,
We’re tickled pink she’s having a girl!
50 giddy women. 48 giddy women, 1 over the moon grandma and 1 beaming, glowing mommy-to-be.
Loyal girlfriends since junior high school (we met in the choir room belting out our me-ma-mahs) I was ecstatic that she was pregnant again. As most southern women do at baby showers we ate and socialized in a room full of glitter and diapers wrapped in pink ribbon.
A brunch-esque shower we had finger foods on the menu: chicken salad sandwiches, crackers, cheese, fruit salad, punch, southern sweet tea and a jungle sheet cake.
My favorite part was the games-games-games. Adventureland anyone? During our time of merriment we played – Guess the size of the pregnant belly, don’t say “baby”, and which features of mom and dad does the mommy want Avery to have. These were all fun but you haven’t seen nothing yet. Just look below:
Flipping through a magazine we were to find the best features for Avery and make a collage. Wow. We’ve got some creative women among the group. Luckily Avery has a beautiful mom and a handsome dad so she’s got nothing to worry about!
Now, what is a baby shower if the mommy doesn’t go home with lots of loot?
Surrounded by a room full of love, Angela opened up her precious gifts. Delightful squeals of ooh’s and aah’s echoed in my ears. Now I know the meaning of “too cute for words”. 🙂 I love both baby boys and girls, secretly though, I love shopping for baby girls. A girly girl by heart I am tickled by pink, frills and glitter.
Beaming and glowing, a pregnant mommy with a bundle of love Angela was nothing short of feeling blessed and so happy! A big shout and thanks to all the girls involved in making this a wonderful shower for Angela.
A little bit of heaven
Drifted down from above –
A handful of happiness,
A heartful of love.
The mystery of life,
So sacred and sweet
The giver of joy
So deep and complete.
Precious and priceless,
So lovable, too
The world’s sweetest miracle,
Baby girl, is you.
